Day One: South Beach, Frozen Drinks, and Tybee After Dark
Breakfast at Sunrise Restaurant
Start the trip with a proper beach-day breakfast: omelets, French toast, biscuits, grits, and plenty of coffee. Sunrise is casual, unfussy, and exactly the kind of place you want before spending most of the day in the sun.
South Beach and Tybee Pier
Claim a spot on South Beach, get in the ocean, and officially switch into vacation mode. When you need a break from the sand, walk out on the Tybee Pier and wander Tybrisa Street, where bars, restaurants, and shops are all within an easy stroll. South Beach is the island’s liveliest district and home base for much of Tybee’s action.
Lunch at Spanky’s Beachside
A Tybee classic directly across from the beach. Order the famous chicken fingers and battered potatoes, grab a cold drink, and enjoy the kind of lunch where nobody is particularly concerned about what time it is.
Pools and Tybee Tidal Zone
Head back to Hotel Tybee for a few hours by the pools. Grab a drink, find a lounge chair, and cool off in Tybee Tidal Zone. Yes, it is technically a splash pad. No, that does not mean your group of thirty-somethings needs to behave responsibly around the spray cannons.
Rest and Recharge
Shower, turn the air conditioning down approximately twelve degrees, charge every phone in the room, and regroup before heading back out.
Dinner at The Original Crab Shack
Go all-in on the Tybee experience with seafood, Lowcountry favorites, cocktails, outdoor dining beneath the trees, and the restaurant’s famous alligator lagoon. It is quirky, casual, and exactly the kind of place everyone will still be talking about in the group chat after the trip.
Tybee After Dark
Head back toward South Beach for drinks and see where the night takes you. Grab a frozen cocktail, find some live music, try karaoke, or settle in somewhere for one more round. Wet Willie’s, Sting Ray’s, Rock House, Fannie’s, and Tybee Time are among the island’s after-dark options.
Day Two: Lighthouse, Dolphins, and Sunset Cocktails
Breakfast at The Breakfast Club
Start with a classic diner-style breakfast before the biggest adventure day of the trip. Expect hearty portions, plenty of options, and the possibility of a wait—which is easier to tolerate once someone has secured coffee.
Climb the Tybee Island Lighthouse
Head north and climb to the top for one of the best views on the island. The stairs will remind everyone that brunch does not technically count as cardio, but the view over Tybee and the Atlantic makes the effort worthwhile.
North Beach
Spend some time on Tybee’s quieter north end. Walk the beach, look for shells, and watch the enormous container ships making their way toward the Port of Savannah.
Lunch at North Beach Bar & Grill
Stay right by the lighthouse for lunch at this colorful Caribbean-inspired spot. Seafood, island dishes, cold beer, and daiquiris make it an easy transition from sightseeing back into vacation mode.
Dolphin Cruise
Get out on the water in search of Tybee’s resident bottlenose dolphins while taking in the surrounding waterways and coastal scenery. Depending on the route, you may also get views of Cockspur Lighthouse and other landmarks you cannot really appreciate from shore.
Pool Time at Hotel Tybee
Return to the hotel, change absolutely nothing about your plans for the next couple of hours, and park yourselves by the pool. Swim, order something cold, or simply do nothing—which is an underrated vacation activity.
Dinner at Sea Wolf Tybee
Head to North Tybee for oysters, creative cocktails, sausages, and one of the island’s coolest laid-back dinner spots. Sea Wolf has the kind of quirky, slightly unexpected personality that works perfectly for a friends’ trip—come for dinner, stay for another cocktail, and enjoy a night that feels decidedly more local than touristy
One More Drink?
The correct answer is entirely up to the group. Head back toward South Beach for live music or a frozen cocktail, or call it an early night and pretend everyone is definitely going to wake up for sunrise.
Day Three: Coffee, Giant Pizza, and One Last Beach Day
Coffee at Tybean
Slow things down with handcrafted coffee at this colorful local favorite tucked into Tybee Oaks. Grab cold brew, espresso, a smoothie, or something quick to eat and enjoy a morning that does not require anyone to be somewhere at 8:00 sharp.
Choose Your Island Adventure
Make the last morning as active—or inactive—as the group wants. Kayak through the tidal creeks, book an excursion to Little Tybee Island, rent bikes and explore, or return to the beach with absolutely no itinerary beyond sunscreen and a cooler. Little Tybee offers a particularly memorable escape for groups looking to get beyond the main island.
Lunch at Huc-A-Poo’s
Order a couple of enormous pizzas for the table and settle into one of Tybee’s most laid-back local hangouts. The funky setting, giant slices, and decidedly unpolished beach-town personality make Huc-A-Poo’s the kind of place that feels more discovered than planned.
Browse Tybee Oaks
Before leaving, wander the surrounding shops for local art, gifts, beachwear, and something that will inevitably become the unofficial souvenir of the weekend. Tybee Oaks is also home to Tybean Coffee Bar.
The Final Pool Afternoon
Spend your last afternoon back at Hotel Tybee. This is the time for one final swim, one more round of drinks, a few photos where everyone miraculously agrees they look good, and the inevitable discussion about extending the trip another night.
Rest and Change for Dinner
Cool down, clean up, and make yourselves slightly more presentable for the final night.

Finish with fresh seafood, cold drinks, outdoor seating, and Tybee’s signature laid-back atmosphere. Sting Ray’s regularly pairs its casual South Beach setting with live music, making it an easy choice when dinner has the potential to turn into the beginning of the evening.
Farewell Walk on the Tybee Pier
Take one final walk over the ocean before calling it a trip. Recap the weekend, debate the best meal, figure out who has the photos worth posting, and begin the conversation that every successful friends’ trip eventually produces: “So where are we going next year?”
