After Mike's tragic death in 2012, his wife and filmmaking partner Mimi deGruy went into the edit room to complete the most important film of their life: a passionate and spectacular call to action on behalf of the world's oceans compiling never-before-seen footage and interviews with deGruy's friends and collaborators, including Oscar-winning director James Cameron, National Geographic Explorer Sylvia Earle, and legendary British broadcaster Sir David Attenborough. The score is from Oscar and Grammy winner Christopher Cross.
Mimi DeGruy is on hand for a Q&A after this exclusive presentation of her award-winning documentary, a benefit organized by Zelda Tenenbaum for the Tybee Island Marine Science Center and the Tybee Post Theater. There will also be a raffle of some tremendous prizes, from an ocean tour with Cathy Sakas, co-founder of Ocean Exchange and founding chair of Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary Foundation to weekend vacation stays and a beach bag from Satchel Savannah and much more!
Sunday, April 19, 6 pm. Raffle/Concessions/Meet & Greet begins at 6 pm. Screening at 7 pm. Q&A follows. Tickets $15 adults, $5 students, children.
