For three fun-filled days this May, Savannah's sunny beach escape celebrates the LGBT community with its 3rd Annual Rainbow Fest. Both laid-back and lively, the festival's highlight is the Tybee Island Gay Pride Parade on Saturday, May 3rd. Of course, the party doesn't stop (or start) there! Succulent snacks for sampling, drink specials, and tons of dancing promise to be everywhere you turn all weekend. Be sure to check it all out!
Friday Night Festivities
Coco's Sunset Grill is where it all begins, with a killer happy hour and complimentary bites from 4-6pm. After that, hit the luau-themed Kick-Off Party at Tybee Wedding Chapel Ballroom (6:30-10:30pm), for tons of food, drinks, and door prizes. Don't wear yourself out though, because the Big Deck After Party at Tybee Social Club goes until 3am!
Sunny Saturday Haps
First things first… HIT THE BEACH! The island's unofficial first weekend of summer starts with cocktails and seafood at Marlin Monroe's, 10am-2pm. After soaking in the sun and surf, get ready for Tybee Rainbow Fest Parade! Starting at 4th Street, the wild procession moves down Butler to Tybrisa, then up Strand (3-5pm). And be sure to keep things going at the Fannie's Third Floor Dance Party (5:30-10:30pm), followed by a super sexy Foam Party at Bernie's Oyster House (10pm-3am).
Things wind down with brunch at your choice of restaurant, a Beach Sweep clean up (2:30-4pm), and poolside Tea Dance Party at Marlin Monroe's at 4pm.
